Project Priorities

So many projects, so little time. I'm currently working on a quilt for Ri, a half-square triangle sampler. So far I have three blocks done. It's been a lot of fun to play around with the fabrics and pattern, but a bit slow going. I guess that should be expected with a one year old running the house. I have to say, I am so in love with the fabric I chose - Somerset by Fig Tree Quilts. I love the rich Reds and soothing greens, and the touches of coral and spring green. In fact, this quilt is planned for Ri's bed (down the road when she's out of her crib), in a room that is navy with coral accents. I think it will look great.

So not only am I working on the HST Sampler, I also desperately need to get started on a quilt for my sister and her fiancé. Their wedding is in October and I plan to make them a pineapple quilt. Pineapples are the universal symbol for Welcome, which I thought would be fitting as they start their lives together. I'm using a bundle of Kona Cotton fat quarters in blues and greens. I am thinking I'll use either a white or soft gray as the additional fabric which will form the pineapples. I think it will look great once I get it done - if I ever get started.

So, official priorities (hopefully having these in writing will help motivate me to bust a move on them):
1. Pineapple wedding quilt
2. HST quilt
3. Mini Quilts and More! - this seems like such a fun little monthly project.

I'll keep you posted on the project progress.
